Homeowner holds burglary suspect at gunpoint

A man took the law into his own hands early Thursday when a suspected burglar broke into his house.

Lexington Police arrested Donovan Brannen shortly after arriving at the home on West Fourth Street, near Newtown Pike.

Bob Riley, who lives at the home, tells 27 NEWSFIRST he was in the shower when he heard his dog barking.

That alerted him to a burglar.

Riley then held Donovan at gunpoint until police arrived.

Donovan is charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools.

Riley owns a towing business and says Donovan was trying to steal some of his tools.
