Video will be available shortly

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Fire damaged several downtown Frankfort buildings early this morning, but there were no reports of injuries.

Frankfort Fire Department spokesman Dan Shouse says a police officer found a stairwell engulfed in fire about 6 a.m. Sunday.

Shouse says the blaze spread quickly from the stairwell to apartments above.

Residents were evacuated from the downtown apartments where the fire was mostly contained.
