Prescription Drug Problem At Lexington Middle School

A drug investigation is underway today at a Lexington middle school.

School officials say students at Jessie Clark Middle School sold and used drugs while at school. School law enforcement officers worked with administrators on the investigation.

Police say fewer than 10 sixth and seventh graders were involved. About 900 students are enrolled at Jessie Clark which includes sixth through eighth graders.

The families of all children involved have been notified and school officials sent letters home with all students today to let parents know about the investigation.

Students found to posses, use or sell drugs at school could face both legal and internal punishments.
