Six people arrested for targeting neighborhood

Lexington Police have arrested six people in an investigation into increased crime in one neighborhood. Police say several personal crimes have been reported in the past several weeks. Police say the victims being targeted were Hispanics.

Friday Police announced the six arrested after a coordinated effort between patrol officers, the Police Department's CLEAR unit and investigators. Police say the investigation is still ongoing, and more charges are possible.

Those arrested Friday include 36-year old Greg Coleman, who's facing charges of robbery, burglary and rape. 22-year old Martae Shanks is charged with robbery, fleeing and evading and possession of a handgun by a felon. Police charged 21-year old Mika Stigall with possession of a controlled substance and being a felon in possession of a handgun. They also charged 25-year old Jayme Baxter with possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct. 21-year old Ronald Hill faces charges of robbery, burglary, criminal mischief, being a felon in possession of a handgun and fleeing and evading. The last suspect, 22-year old Salmaine Edwards, is charged with robbery.
