Lexington Police closed a busy intersection Friday afternoon after a four vehicle crash. Police say a car tried to pull onto Versailles Road from Man O'War when it was t-boned by a pickup. Police say it's not clear right now who had the right of way.
The collision sent the pickup into oncoming traffic on Versailles Road. Police say other vehicles were unable to stop in time and collided with the truck.
Two people were taken to the hospital including a female who was driving the car t-boned by the pickup. Police tell us she was suffering from serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Busy Versailles Road was closed from 4:00pm to around 6:00pm while accident reconstruction teams worked to investigate the crash. Traffic on the busy road was backed up for miles. The impact also created backups on New Circle Road, putting rush hour traffic on that road at a crawl as well.
