Students Prepare For Severe Weather

Video will be available shortly

Tornado safety was on the mind of school children across the state today as they practiced what to do in the event of severe weather.

Schools across the state sounded their tornado sirens just after ten Tuesday morning to raise awareness about tornado safety.

At Picadome Elementary School in Lexington, at least 600 students practiced severe weather procedures. They moved from classrooms to the basement in record time.

The drills are particularly timely in light of the Alabama students who were killed when a tornado hit their high school last week.
