Woman says barking dogs alerted her to fire

A Scott County woman is crediting her dogs with saving her life.
Her home on East Honaker Road, off Long Lick Pike, was destroyed by flames.

The woman says she woke up because her dogs were barking. She went to investigate and discovered the fire.

She made it to safety by jumping out a window. There was one other person in the home at the time, who also made it out safely.

When firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

A road closure caused some minor delays for a few fire units trying to get to the scene.

The family's three dogs were unharmed, but they are still searching for their missing cat.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it does not appear suspicious.
