For the second time in as many days, police are searching for a robber near UK's campus.

Monday night, a man tells police he was walking down Kalmia Avenue off Rose Street near UK's campus when he was jumped. The victim says he was on his way home when another man pushed him down and stole his wallet.

As the suspect was running away, the victim says he almost got hit by a car while crossing Rose Street.

Overnight, police searched the area and even went to Coliseum Liquors to see if the suspect had been there or in that area.

This as police continue to search for a robbery suspect who robbed a student walking back to his dorm room Sunday night. In this case, the victim was near the Student Center just before 9:00 p.m. when he tells police he was robbed by a man with a knife.

Right now, police do not believe these robberies are related because the descriptions of the suspects are different.

But officers are urging students and people living in the area to be on alert.

They say the thing both robberies have in common is the victims were walking alone after dark. Police say everyone should try and walk in pairs and generally be aware of their surroundings.
