Lexington's new Hilton hotel held it's grand opening Wednesday night. It's called the Hilton Lexington-Downtown. It used to be the Lexington Downtown Hotel and Convention Center. In March 2009, work began on a $13 million renovation to make it into a Hilton. The new design includes at three story mosaic water fountain with 10,000 glass pieces. Renovations on the ballroom, restaurant, lobby and meeting rooms are complete. Work remains on about half of the guest rooms. There are also 1,300 square feet of lights that stretch around the hotel's rooftop.
