Kentucky Man Blamed For Murder-Suicide

Video will be available shortly

A North Carolina man accused of strapping his two little children in their car seats and shooting them before turning the gun on himself has Kentucky ties.

35-year-old Steven Henry, formerly from Bourbon County, is at the center of the murder investigation.

Police believe he shot and killed his six-year-old daughter and four-year-old son then shot himself, outside his estranged wife's home in Clayton, North Carolina.

Police say Dawn Henry came home to find her husband's car in her driveway. She thought he was sleeping in the car and immediately called police because of a history of domestic violence.

When police got there, they reportedly found the children dead in the back seat of the car, covered with a red sheet.

Police say Henry was dead in the front seat.

We're told the couple separated with in the past year and had been going through a bitter custody dispute for the past couple of months.

Records show Dawn Henry filed an order of protection against Steven Henry last year but it was dismissed.

Authorities expect to hear the causes of death today from medical examiners in Chapel Hill.

Steven Henry still has family in the Lexington area.
