State in search of new troopers

The Kentucky State Police will be testing for trooper applicants next week at the Department of Criminal Justice training center at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.

Applicants must be 21, U.S. citizens in good health and must have a valid driver's license with no more than six driver demerit points.

State police Lt. David Jude said the applicants also must have either two years of college, two years of active military service or two years as a full-time police officer for another agency.

The deadline for applying is Nov. 6.
