Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
A family woke up just in time to make it out of their burning home. It happened around 3:30 this morning at a home on River Park Drive.
Fire officials say the family was running out the back door when they called 911.
When firefighters arrived the porch was fully engulfed in flames. The fire then spread to the home. Crews put out that fire a short time after arriving.
No one was injured.
Investigators believe a cigarette butt may have sparked the flames.
