City loses only movie theater

The only movie theater in Georgetown has closed.

Buck Kolkmeyer, one of the theater's owners, told the Georgetown
News-Graphics that the business was a victim of the recession.

The seven-screen Theatres of Georgetown closed last week after
showing a final movie. It had been open since 1998.

Prior to that, Scott County had been without a movie theater for
30 years.
