Bands of heavy snow are now working through Central Kentucky. By the time this system ends on Thursday some areas will pick up more than 1 foot of snow.
Lexington’s trick-or-treaters can get an early start to collect treats this Halloween.
The city added an hour on the front-end of the city’s hours for trick-or-treating, by making the official hours 5-8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31. Hours observed on previous Halloweens were 6-8 p.m.
The hours are being changed to allow some early trick-or-treating and avoid a conflict with the University of Kentucky-Mississippi State University football game, which starts at 7 p.m. at Commonwealth Stadium.
The city asks fans heading to the stadium for the game to use extra caution and watch for pedestrians on sidewalks and crossing the streets.
