Paris Police served a search warrant on a home early Friday where a tense, two-hour standoff took place.
It happened on Ridgeway Drive, off Lexington Road, in Bourbon County.
Police say Michael Walker was suicidal when they went to his home around 10:30 Thursday night to check on him.
Officers say Walker then fired two shots at officers.
After the second shot, officers returned fire. People living nearby were told to take cover.
No one was hurt. No one else was inside the home.
Walker was eventually taken into custody and charged with attempted murder of a police officer and wanton endangerment.
Police spent about two hours Friday morning searching Walker's home. So far, there is no word on what they were looking for.
