One Kentucky college is trying to prevent the spread of flu among students.

If a student at Berea College is diagnosed with the flu - either seasonal or H1N1 - college officials have given them several options.

If it's possible, the student is asked to leave campus and go home. If the student can't go home, they are kept in isolation.

Students in single-occupancy rooms are being confined to their rooms. Others are asked to stay in one of two off-campus isolation houses until they are better.

Since classes began this fall, the college reports 40 students have been diagnosed with the flu at the Campus Health Service Center.

Currently there are 6 students staying in one of the off-campus isolation houses. They are brought meals and are checked on by residence hall and health service staff.
