A happy homecoming for a Central Kentucky military man.
Dampier is with the Seabees Naval Regiment out of Atlanta, but he lives in Nicholasville.
He's been in the reserves for 18 years but this is the first time he's ever gone overseas.
His wife, Kim, says it's been difficult having him away so long.
Dampier made it back just in time for his daughter's birthday.
She will turn eight this Monday and she says the best present will be having her daddy there.
