Search For Missing Child Ends In Lexington

A child missing for five years is found safe in Lexington.

Police received a tip the 7 year old was living at the Forest Oaks Apartment on East Reynolds Road.

Police found the boy with his mother, who does not have custody. Officials say the mother, January Ali Medley, took the boy for a visit back in 2003 and never came back. Medley now faces felony custodial interference charges. Medley alleges the father, Salam Ali, was abusing the child and she did not know her son was listed as a missing person.

27 NEWSFIRST spoke with Medley's brother, Ryan Morley, who says there's alot more to the story. Morley says Medley was under the impression she would share custody with Ali after they divorced. He also says Medley filed rape charges against Ali, but the father then took off with the boy to Tennessee.
