Some new details Tuesday into what caused the death of a 10 year old Central Kentucky girl.
Her father and stepmother say it was just an accident, but police say that's not true.
Both Patrick and Joy Watkins are charged with Michaela's murder. They appeared in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing, which included testimony from investigators.
Investigators say Michaela was essentially beaten to death. They say she died from a chest injury, caused by blunt force trauma. Police say it appears something similar to a two-by-four was used. The medical examiner also says on the day she died, the Watkins' didn't call 911 until four hours later.
The case will now move on to the Clark County Grand Jury.
