Serial Rapist May Have Struck Again

Video will be available shortly

Months after two unsolved rapes near the UK campus, Lexington police believe the man may have tried to strike again.

The man broke into homes just off-campus in the fall, on Conn Terrace and University Avenue, attacking women who lived there and robbing them.

Now police believe the same man may be behind an attempted burglary in the Newtown Crossing Apartments.

Police say at around 5:45 Thursday morning, a man broke into a woman's apartment, probably through an unlocked window. The woman woke up and saw the intruder and ran out of her apartment.

Police say they didn't find the man, but that nothing was missing from the victim's apartment.

Investigators say the incident had a lot of similarities to the two unsolved sexual assaults, so they think the same man may be responsible for the three crimes.

Police have released a composite sketch of the man they're looking for. He's described as a black male, approximately 20-25 years old, 6'1", weighing 180 pounds. The suspect was seen wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants.

Anyone with information relating to this investigation is asked to call the Personal crimes Section of Lexington police at (859) 258-3700 or Bluegrass Crime Stoppers at (859) 253-2020.
