For the second day in a row, someone was hit on Interstate 64 in Carter County. This time police say the man struck by a semi was running from the law.

The incident started around noon Thursday when police tried to stop a pickup truck for speeding on the AA Highway.

Police say the truck, driven by 25-year-old Lonnie Marcum, was stolen from Lawrence County. Police say Marcum wouldn't stop and took off towards Interstate 64.

On the I-64 overpass, he crashed the truck into a car, sending a 16-year-old pregnant girl in that car to the hospital.

That's when police say Marcum and a passenger, 18-year-old Carl Marcum, both jumped out and ran off.

During the foot chase, police say Carl Marcum tried to run across the interstate and was was hit by a semi. He was air-lifted to the hospital where police say he is in critical condition.

The driver, Lonnie Marcum, was arrested by state police at the scene.

He faces 15 charges, including first degree DUI, fleeing and evading, leaving the scene of an accident and receiving stolen property.

The accident caused westbound I-64 to be shut down for several hours.
