Kentucky Soldier Killed In Iraq

Specialist William G. Bowling of Lee County died Sunday in Baghdad. The Department of Defense says a bomb went off near his vehicle.

He was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.
Bowling had been in the army since 2003, this was his second tour of duty in Iraq. He leaves behind a pregnant wife and a 19-month-old daughter.

Flags will remain at half-staff in honor of Bowling until sunset on the day of his funeral, which has not yet been determined.
