Assistant Football Coach Charged With Sodomy

ASHLAND, Ky. (AP) - An assistant football coach at Boyd County High School has been charged with sodomy, police said.

Vincent L. Jones, 45, was arrested Thursday after being accused of having sex with a student. He pleaded not guilty to the charge Friday morning in Boyd County District Court.

The alleged incident occurred about two weeks ago, and was reported by the victim's family, Boyd County Sheriff Terry Keelin said.

Jones has been suspended without pay, said Richard Cyrus, safe schools officer for the district.

A preliminary hearing for Jones was set for April 11.
