Local police officer deploying to Afghanistan

For the second time, a Central Kentucky police officer is getting ready to serve his country in Afghanistan.

Friday morning colleagues of Georgetown Police Officer Jim Wright held a special ceremony to send him off.

Elizabeth Dorsett reports..

Wright and his five children were on hand as his co-workers tied up a ribbon in his honor.

Wright will cut down the ribbon when he comes back from Afghanistan, in about a year.

Wright is with the the 378th Reserve Unit, based out of Louisville.

He will train for two months before deploying at the first of the year.

Wright says he most looks forward to coming back and taking the ribbon down when he gets back.
