Police Investigate Thefts of Markers from Veterans' Graves

A disturbing crime spree in Laurel and Clay Counties, where police say someone has been stealing markers off veterans' graves.
Seven markers have been stolen in all.

Police arrested Roger Jewell, and charged him with the thefts. More arrests are expected.Jewell is in the Laurel County jail.

Four of the plaques have been recovered at a metal recycling center in Clay County. They're now in the process of being returned.

The Laurel County Sheriff is urging families to visit cemeteries to make sure the graves of their loved ones haven't been bothered.
He says it costs $450 to replace a single plaque.
