Trash Covers Kentucky Highway After Accident

Video will be available shortly

A messy situation Monday night in Nicholasville when a semi truck hauling trash overturned on the 27-bypass at Kentucky 169.

Police say the wreck happened just before 7:00pm tonight, snarling traffic for hours.

Police say the truck driver swerved to miss some cars at the intersection, causing him to hit the median. The truck then rolled over on to two other cars.

One of those drivers was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Trash from the truck spilled across the roadway leaving quite a mess for clean-up crews.

The highway re-opened around 11:00 tonight and traffic is moving as usual.
