Report: WKU to dismiss head football coach

Big football news out of Western Kentucky University today.
According to reports from our sister station WBKO, WKU football Coach David Elson will not be retained after the 2009 football season.
Elson will reportedly coach the final 3 games of the 2009 season.
The official announcement is expected to come at a 1p.m. press conference.

WKU has no business in 1A football. Even UK, with their millions to spend and large fan base, can't compete with the large football factories. Any coach at WKU or UK must overcome extremely large obstacles to keep his job. It's not like basketball where one or two good players can make you successful.
