LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - U.S. Sen. John McCain says "half
measures" in devising the nation's military policy in Afghanistan
will not get the job done.
McCain was speaking Wednesday morning at the University of
Louisville as a guest of Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.
He says sufficient troop levels are needed to provide security
for the Afghan people.
McCain is a leading advocate of bolstering U.S. troop levels in
Afghanistan. He says "half measures" would be the "worst thing"
that the U.S. can do in that war-torn country.
