Man Killed Trying to Cross Busy Highway

A pedestrian was killed Wednesday morning while trying to cross U.S. 68 in Maysville, not far from the YMCA.

Investigators say Tau Do, 72, had just left a city bus and was apparently heading to the YMCA to swim when he was hit.

Police say the driver tried to swerve to miss the man, but couldn't avoid him. The accident is still under investigation.

Do's family tells 27 NEWSFIRST he just became a citizen in August. Do was reunited with his wife and five adult children after being separated from them for twenty years.

Funeral arrangements have not been set.
