State police arrested 57 year-old Barbara Therese Pielack and charged her with twelve counts of rape and twelve counts of sodomy. The arrest came after police received a tip that Pielack was having a personal relationship with a minor, less than 14 years of age.
Pielack was working at the Trillium Center in Corbin, that's where she meet the victim. Pielack and the minor had a six month long relationship, according to state police.
Police also say 64 year old James Russell Thornton was arrested on rape and sodomy charges.
Police say after a month long investigation, a warrant was issued for their arrests in December 2006. We're told the two suspects fled Kentucky after learning they were wanted on these charges.
Police soon caught up with Pielack and Thornton where they were arrested in Georgia.
Pielack and Thornton are currently in the Laurel County Detention Center.
