A Lexington doctor, who performed the first open-heart surgery in Central Kentucky, has died.
The Herald-Leader reports Doctor Richard Crutcher died at his Lexington home, on Saturday.
This past March, he celebrated the 50th anniversary of his landmark surgery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8, at Milward's Funeral Home, Tuesday.
The funeral is Wednesday, at the Newman Center.
Crutcher was 97.
