Very slow moving showers and thunderstorms will move into our area overnight and Sunday. The potential for flooding will be heightened in southern and eastern Kentucky.
A Lexington police officer is being haled a hero this afternoon after pulling a woman to safety after a fire breaks out in a home.
The fire broke out at a home on Spring Run Road, off Clays Mill and Boston Road in Lexington just after 11:00.
Two people were able to escape from the home, but a woman remained inside.
Lexington police officer Keith Todd was able to pull the woman, in her 50's or 60's to safety.
She was unconscious when she was pulled out, but regained consciousness on the ride to UK hospital. She's said to be in critical condition.
Officer Todd was taken to the hospital as well to be checked out, but he should be treated and released.
There's no word on the case of the fire at this time, but investigators think it started in a bathroom.
