Missionary Family Thanks Community And God For Helping Sick Toddler

A Lexington 3 year old is back in the Bluegrass months after she was diagnosed with acute leukemia while her family was serving as missionaries in Thailand.
In order for Gracie Pittman to receive the appropriate treatment, the family had to make the long journey back to Kentucky. It took two months before Gracie was healthy enough to travel and the family could raise the necessary money to return home.
The toddler is now undergoing chemo-therapy at UK Children's hospital and doing much better.
The family says the support from the local community made that life-saving trip possible.
Gracie's treatments could last for several years. If possible, the family tells 27 NEWSFIRST they do plan to return to Thailand to continue their mission work.
