Kentucky Men Caught During Internet Sting

Eleven men from three states were arrested during an Internet sex sting, Attorney General Greg Stumbo said Monday.

The Kentucky Bureau of Investigation worked with local police in
Campbell County, in northern Kentucky, and the Internet watchdog group Perverted Justice, to conduct the operation from last Thursday through Sunday. Suspects, all men, ranged in age from 24 to 59.

It was the second time the attorney general's office has worked with the group during the past year. In October, seven men were arrested during a similar operation in Louisville, and state prosecutors sent more than 30 to federal officials for review, Stumbo said.

Each of the suspects was charged with attempted unlawful transaction with a minor, which is a felony and punishable by up to 20 years in prison. They were all being held on $100,000 cash bond, Stumbo said.

Four of the men arrested were from Kentucky, while five were from Ohio and two from Indiana.

Law enforcement officials from several states have worked with the Perverted Justice group, which trains adults who pose as minors in Internet chat rooms.
