A Bullitt County child who wandered away from home late last night was found safe this morning after an extensive search.

The Bullitt County Sheriff's Department reports three-year-old Abigail Arnwine was missing from the family home off Kentucky 245 when her mother returned from a chore.

Sheriff Donnie Tinnell says the youngster's mother went to help her older son, who had run out of gas. Before leaving, the mother told the child to go get in bed with her father.

After receiving a call about the child, the department formed a search party of about 60 people and dogs who canvassed about two-thousand yards near the edge of a woods.

Tinnell says the child has wandered away from home before, but
only during daylight hours.
