Flood Pushes Bridge Off Foundation

Crews in Floyd County are repairing a bridge damaged in the weekend flood.

About fifteen people were stranded on the other side. The bridge is the only way to get to a charity food distribution center.

Officials say trash, not flood waters, knocked the bridge off of its foundation.

Witnesses say the garbage built up against the bridge, and the force of the water on the trash pushed the bridge three feet.

Crews have moved the bridge back on it's foundation. They hope to open the distribution center on Thursday.

Crews estimate it will take 500 loads to remove all the trash.
