There was quite a scene Friday afternoon in a Lexington neighborhood after a spectacular crash.
Drivers say a car driving very fast at Tates Creek Road and Charleston Gardens when he hit a ditch. Witnesses say that caused him to go airborne, hit a brick wall and plow into the backyard of a home.
The car took out a covered pavilion, trampoline, play set and a fence before coming to a stop.
We're told the driver of the car was taken to UK Medical Center with life threatening injuries. His name has not yet been released.
There was no one home at the time of the crash, so luckily, there were no other injuries.
