Local VA Tech Alumni Chapter Join Nation In Mourning

This week's tragic events at Virginia Tech strengthened the ties of a local alumni chapter. Many of the former Hokies gathered Friday night at the First United Methodist Church in Georgetown.
The names of all 32 victims were read, then the Virginia Tech Lexington Alumni Chapter joined the nation in a moment of silence.
For many of the graduates the shootings on the Blacksburg campus hit too close to home.
Some the alumni lived in the dorm were the first shots were fired.
The president of chapter says she had no idea how many Virginia Tech graduates lived here in Kentucky.
