Fundraiser Held For Frankfort Fire Victims

A month after a fire ripped through part of historic downtown Frankfort, the community pulled together to help people get back on their feet.
A benefit concert was held Friday at the Capital Plaza Hotel ballroom to aid victims of the St. Clair fire. The group hopes to raise $10,000 through silent auction, as well as T-shirt and alcohol sales. All proceeds will go to people who lost their homes or businesses in the devastating fire. Five local bands also donated their time. For one victim, Louise Schrader, tonight's events served as a way for her to put the tragedy behind her. As a victim who lost everything in the fire, Schrader says she's never seen the community come to gather like they did Friday night.
