Police in Georgetown have busted several people they say are running a book selling scam. Investigators say even though their sales pitch sound innocent, don't be fooled.
Officials say the scamers go door-to-door selling books and magazine subscriptions and telling buyers the money will go to a children's hospital or to send a little league baseball team over-seas. If a person falls for the bait they are given a receipt from Tuscan readers services incorporated, but there isn't any way for the books to be shipped to the buyer. Police arrested 5 people in connection with these crimes. They also recovered a total of $1100.
