Man Accused of Attempted Murder Learns Fate

A federal judge sentenced an eastern Kentucky man on a list of charges, ranging from car jacking to the attempted murder of an FBI agent.

The judge sent James Barnett to prison for 40 years.

The 38-year old Mt. Sterling man was convicted of car-jacking a woman at knife point back in 2005 outside a Mt. Sterling bar.

He was on the run for a year before police found him at his girlfriend's home. A standoff followed, during which Barnett fired shots, barely missing an FBI agent.
