Dunbar student, 17 year-old Jesse Higginbotham, died last week in a terrible car crash. He and three other Dunbar students were on their way to school when the accident happened on Versailles Road.

Now Higginbotham's friends and family plan to keep the teenager's legacy alive.

John Jones and Jesse were best friends and business partners, the founders of J and J Tech Solutions LLC.

Higginbotham had high hopes to help others and for himself. He was gifted, already well on his way to becoming a computer programmer.

"He had a heart of gold. Hours, days he would spend on projects and then he would just give it to those who needed them," Jesse said.

With what free time he had, he would volunteer at local elementary and middle schools trying to install and teach technology. Jesse Higgenbotham had something special.

This weekend his friends and family want to celebrate that with a community wide memorial.

The community wide memorial will take place at Dunbar High School Sunday night from 7 to 10 in the gymnasium.

People can also donate to the Jesse Higginbotham Technology Trust fund at any National City Bank or click on the link below which is www.jessehigginbotham.com.

Jesse's parents donated his organs and his mother tells us six people this weekend benefited from them.
