A father and son are injured in an early morning accident in Montgomery County.

Their vehicle plunged over an embankment on U.S. 60 in Mt. Sterling near Brent Brooks Drive.

The impact was so violent it threw both of them from the car.

Elizabeth Dorsett reports.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle, told witnesses to the accident his name was John Williamson.

Police say Williamson was driving a Geo Tracker when he lost control around a curve and went down an embankment.

As of noon, the SUV is still down there, because tow trucks are having trouble getting to it.

Both Williamson and his 12 year old son Trevor were taken to UK hospital.

Neither were airlifted because of the wet weather, which authorities say, may also have led to the accident itself.
