WESTWOOD, Ky. (AP) - An eastern Kentucky woman was arrested Monday night after allegedly pulling a gun from her purse during a school board meeting, police said.

Tina Thompson, 51, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm on school property after taking the gun from her purse during the Fairview Independent School Board meeting.

Thompson was at the meeting to talk about school safety said Rex Cooksey, Fairview safe schools coordinator.

Cooksey said Thompson did not threaten anyone at the meeting, but was restrained until police arrived. Thompson was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, said Sgt. Debbie Smallridge with the Boyd County Sheriff's Office.
