Robbery at check cashing store caught on tape

A man robbed a Central Kentucky business in broad daylight, and it's all caught on tape.

Investigators say the suspect walked into Pete's Check Cashing Center on South Main Street in Nicholasville Monday morning. He told the clerk he had a weapon and got away with some money.

The man was wearing a blue mask and a gray hoodie. He is a white male, 5'8" tall, and has a lean build. He also has curly gray and brown medium length hair.

Nobody was hurt during the crime.

Nicholasville police say this is the first robbery in several weeks, but with a struggling economy and the holiday season just around the corner, the crime comes as no surprise.

"This time of year brings this out," says Officer Kevin Grimes, with Nicholasville Police. "With he economy, it could get worse."

Police are still on the lookout for the robber and are asking people to be on alert.
