Print

A car crash left a woman with serious injuries and shut down a busy Lexington road for hours on Thursday afternoon.

Police tell us a woman driving a white Ford Focus hit the breaks, trying to stop at the intersection of Nicholasville Road and Rojay Drive. A large truck behind her, which was hauling equipment, couldn't stop.

Police say the truck sideswiped another car and then slammed into the Ford.

The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Two other people were injured in the crash.

The accident shut down the outbound lanes of Nicholasville Road for three hours.
