Cause of Death Sought in Homicide Investigation

HENDERSON, Ky. (AP) - A body found in an outbuilding in Henderson has been identified as that of 30-year-old Denice Duncan, who had been reported missing in mid March.

Henderson Police Sergeant John Nevels says the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Duncan's body was found late Saturday afternoon in an outbuilding behind an unoccupied house by the Reverend Melvin Miller, owner of the property. Miller, who is renovating the house, told police he was mowing the yard when he smelled an odor coming from the outbuilding.

Miller found the body, which was partially covered by debris. Henderson County Coroner Bruce Farmer said the body was autopsied Monday in Madisonville, but the cause of death is still not known. Nevels said it appears that the remains had been in the outbuilding for about one month.
