Alleged Serial Bank Robber May Have Struck In Lexington

Video will be available shortly

The FBI says his crimes span seven states, including Kentucky. A man, arrested in South Carolina for robbing a bank, could be the serial robber federal officials nicknamed the "Redneck Robber."

William E. Cobb was arrested Friday outside a convenience store in Summerville, SC after someone called police to complain about a drunk man buying beer.

Police say they found Cobb in his vehicle with two open bottles of beer. Police say they found wigs, fake mustaches, gloves, make-up and other items after they searched his car.

Cobb has only been charged with a March 29th bank robbery, but federal agents say he could be responsible for as many as 40 bank robberies in seven states.

Lexington police are now looking into the possibility that Cobb may have robbed the Chase Bank on Alysheba Way on May 25th of last year.
