Officers Honored For Saving Woman

You probably remember the video. A dramatic crash in northern Kentucky caught on tape. In February a semi slid on ice covered Interstate 75 right into an Erlanger police cruiser. Tuesday night two officers were honored for what you didn't see. What you didn't see was just as amazing as the crash itself. Officers Bill Allen and Doug Eagler risked their lives to pull a woman out of harms way.

The two Erlanger police officers were working one of several accidents that night along I-75. Freezing rain had made the highway slick and dangerous. When the two were checking on a driver involved in a wreck, they saw another one in the making. That's when they jumped into action pulling Ashley Walker out of her car just moments before a Fed Ex tractor trailer slammed into it. They all made it to safety.

Tonight the three were reunited. The Erlanger City Council presented the officers with a commendation of valor for saving Walker's life.
