Churchill Workers Prepare For Queen's Visit

Print

Louisville's Churchill Downs is getting ready for a very special visitor on Derby day. The track is preparing to give the royal treatment for its most famous guest, Queen Elizabeth the second.

The British monarch, an avid horse enthusiast, will attend her first Derby on Saturday, adding another chapter to a race steeped in tradition in "the sport of kings."

A number of track workers attended etiquette classes to avoid any social mistakes when in the Queen's presence.

The Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, will attend the 133rd Kentucky Derby as part of a six day trip to the U.S. that also includes a visit to Virginia for the 400th anniversary of the settlement at Jamestown.
